Hey all! Summer Break is here! I can finally draw here and there without worries.
This drawing started around in the beginning of May but I decided to stop for a bit because there was school and the new patch in FFXIV.
Ever since then, I had not touch this drawing for awhile.
But now it's done! Ayanami with Morning Glories or known as Ipomoea Homolas. Last time, I did one with skeleton flowers but that's only for appearance.
So I decided to find a flower that actually symbolizes him just like the rest of my 07 Ghost flower series.
In the language of flowers, Morning Glories represent willful promises or unrequieted love, restricted love, and love that is vain.
I'd figure that it would fit Ayanami the best. Ayanami had live in a world where he is more dedicated to his work and protecting his country.
But what he doesn't know through all of that hard work, is to love.
Verloren loved Eve but was not able to touch her because everything he would touch would whither away. Ayanami himself lost everything that loved him so much. From his mother, to his father who had to banish him when he was 14, to his eldest brother that loved him greatly, and to his middle older brother who cared for him even though he had Verloren's memories, then to his deceased trustworthy begleiter, Yukikaze who was always there for him when he was alive. He wasn't able to know what love is from the beginning.
Once he tried to know what it was, he was driven mad and killed everyone on behalf of what he had to do or for his own gain just to find this love.
The song from Yuki Kajiura seems to reflect upon what he feels as he goes to a deep slumber.
I'd imagine he regret all the things he had done ranging from siding with the Barsburg Empire, destroying his own country and his people, killing his family, and torturing his nephew, Teito.
He would also probably question where this feeling of love comes from even though he doesn't understand it.
Even the love from his current suboordinates wouldn't cure his frozen heart.
All he could do is lay down in the snow, remembering his home country of Raggs from it, and sleep until he could understand what it is like to love again.

PS: i think the spider lily suits Verloren quite well too. E.g. It blooms in hell when lovers depart and will never meet each other again, it grows in hell, “sad memories”, “departure”, “missing you endlessly”, “desperate love”, “call/omen of death”, etc

I think the picture might look better without the flowers at the bottom..? Cos it seemed there are too many flowers which caught the audience’s attention when the focus should be Ayanami..

Yeah ... I noticed when I posted it. I should have definitely put less in it or maybe at least rearrange it differently so it doesn't have to be such a clutter.
