The stress of hosting a show was really getting to Nikki, who hadn't been in one yet herself. She felt she didn't quite know how to set up the Fire County Fair without actually competing in one. Trent, who had much more free time, had entered a couple shows, but was being the dingus he was and not telling Nikki about them. She was pretty sure he did that solely to make her enter a competition herself. So, in order to please him and take some stress off herself, Nikki looked through the local shows. Grand Prix Farms' Spring Show looked like a lovely place to start, and she scrolled through the events. She didn't want to embarrass herself by her utter lack of knowledge with events, so she chose the one event she knew she'd have a shot at. At Liberty. Masqueradequines were the PERFECT horse for this event, their natural grace and need-to-win fit the bill perfectly. Lacey was most acquainted with the majority of the Masqs at FFS, so Nikki went to her favorite draft horse at the stables, Valerie.
Lacey must've been in the Britney mood, because the stable playlist was filled with her. Finale was doing a little trot in place when Nikki passed him, he seemed to be enjoying the music, unlike Princess and Big Guy. Big Guy sulked in the back of his stall, wishing to hear Family Force 5 instead. Princess was taking a nap, probably dreaming of a Naya Rivera lullaby. Valerie was loving the marathon and was high-stepping, whinnying, and throwing up her head. Nikki approached the lively mare and asked if she wanted to go to a show. She received an alto whinny and a nose nudge in reply. What do they have to loose?

When the FFS trailer found it's spot and Valerie was out, Nikki led the mare around the grounds. There were beautiful cherry trees in full blossom as far as the eye could see. Val took a nibble at one before being pulled away. As the duo walked into the indoor arena, they spotted two familiar faces. Better than Okay Corral and Cherrybrooke Farms were also going to be competing in the Liberty class. Nerves were no more as Roost nickered at Val and she couldn't help but giggle. She approached the handsome stally and wished her friends luck in the events they were to compete in.

Soon enough, it was time for the Liberty class to begin. After 4 amazing performances, it was Val's time to shine. She was obviously itching to go, and her Masqueradequine drive was kicking in. She was already dancing in anticipation. Her nostrils flared and she bobbed her head anxiously. Nikki was used to the breed's behavior and just made sure to watch her foot placement. The announcement was made and Nikki slipped off the bright red halter just in time for the music to start. She chose Britney Spears' "What It's Like To Be Me" for it had just the right attitude for Val to shine.
Val pranced in circles for the short intro and then right as the music really began, kicked to match the sudden bass. She was definitely playing all the right cards as she high-stepped and threw her body to match the beat of the song. This was what the Masq was born for, and she was not going to be beat at her own game. By the time the bridge came around, the mare was shining with sweat. She elongated her gait for the smooth bridge before playing up the crowd for her ending. The mare stood still for a bit as the crowd cheered, much to her enjoyment. Nikki stepped in to retrieve her horse, and Val pranced out as they exited the arena.
Trotting back to the trailer Val whinnied at every horse in sight, as if challenging them to beat her. Nikki hoped they would win, for she wouldn't know how to tell the cocky mare they had not.
