Awesome.

Great white vs orca and sperm whale vs vs giant squid, polar bear vs walrus are the there greatest natural battles in the ocean. ANd you had beautifully rendered one of the three.

Thanks very much! I'm hoping to draw more sea life in the near future.

One ancient ocean creature that utterly fascinates me is the Megalodon, though there's little - living or dead - that could've contended with that!

I couldn't tell! Holy shit! You need to keep that up! Keep going because that is fantastic! I'm honestly terrible at drawing water, so I am seriously impressed if that was your first time!

Haha! Well thank you very much! I shall try! I honestly don't think it's amazing, but for a newbie I'm fairly pleased with how it turned out! I think you're drawings at great, by the way. I love that one entitled 'self portrait', with the wings

Well, they did say that Orcas found a way to kill sharks by flipping them upside then eating them.

They look fantastic! And you say not done yet? The water reflections are looking pretty bad ass, and all the shadowing looks great. I'm interested to see what you'll add

Thanks so much! It's done so I've updated it now. There wasn't much else to add, really. I just had to darken a few areas, pick out and highlight a few details and extend on those light rays coming through the water.

Looks awesome! The light rays on the whale look very realistic, and also the underwater shading and everything!
Also, the shark's expression... "this damn whale won't stop annoying me".

Welcome!

Mmm. I guess the shark? Because the whale is very large and slow, while she shark is fast and equipt with a lot of razor sharp teeth?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GalleyArts In reply to Dramawind [2014-11-02 23:07:22 +0000 UTC]

Thing is though, orcas usually hunt in pods and they've been known to attack sharks. So they have that advantage. Plus, contrary to popular belief killer whales are actually faster, I think. I think they can swim something like 5 miles more per hour than the great white. Also, they can actually manoeuvre the shark into flipping upside down and when a shark is turned upside down it actually goes into a paralyzed state, thus rendered helpless. -- Don't mind the marine nerd here.
