Description
One of the things that appeals to me most about Game of Thrones / Song of Ice and Fire is how realistic, complex and unnervingly human its characters are. I love the fact that whether you love or loathe them - or are just plainly confused as to whether you do one moment then don't the next - you can almost always empathise or understand them to some degree. I for one, couldn't stand Sansa Stark throughout series one, but as the series has moved on, and her character has grown and developed, she's gradually become one of my favourite characters and I think there's much more to come from her.
Petyr Baelish, however, is a character I've loved from the very beginning and still at the end of series four, he remains to be my favourite character in the entire series.
I suppose you could say I'm a "shipper" of these two. And I am! I could give many reasons as to why, but won't because I don't wish to say anything that would be regarded as a spoiler. Still, I've been looking forward to drawing them at the Eyrie ever since I read it. I think it's one of the most moving chapters / scenes throughout ASOIAF/GOT.

I agree with what you say about Sansa; when I first started reading the books and then watching the show I couldn't stand her and her attitude to life (to the point that I hated reading the chapters from her POV in the first book until the very latest chapters) but as her character has progressed I think has gotten much better. Littlefinger...I thin he's just so devious and cunning that you can't help but admire his character even if you don't want to! I'm not saying this as a spoiler (because I don't even know if it may possibly ever occur or not this is just my opinion) but I feel like Sansa may be Littlefinger's demise which would be epic since he believes himself to be teaching her in the way of playing the Game of Thrones and whatnot.
I really liked this drawing though like you different scenes to draw them- if that's true what made you pick those two scenes to reference from and why?

I was just the same. Reading chapters from her perspective with quite tedious (as with many of the characters initially, I have do admit) but as you say, she's definitely come a long way since then. I completely agree with you about Sansa leading Littlefinger to his ultimate demise. It might sound strange, as he's my favourite character, but I think that would be an incredibly interesting and gripping plot line, so I very much hope that's the case.
I just think the part at the Eeyrie, both in the books and in the TV series, though we all know that Littlefinger's intentions are far from honourable in any sense of the word, but seeing him helping her to construct Winterfell in the snow is something quite moving, from Sansa's perspective, at least. It signifies just how manipulative he can be. It's also a scene that really highlights just how far Sansa has come in terms of character, becoming appreciative and longing for what she once had, whereas before she couldn't wait to leave her home. It conveys just how much heartache and grief she's had to go through; how few people she can rely on or trust in the world, therefore is left with little choice but to seek or tolerate the one and only comfort someone as cunning as Littlefinger can almost exclusively provide. It's a deep and pivotal part of the plot, really.

Reading chapters from her was the worst for me...did I not like reading any of the others? hhmm...I think for others it was a case of me not liking characters' perspectives only at certain times- For example I like Jon's character and I can relate to being ostracised for something you can't control (I suppose I'm a bit like Tyrion: "I have a soft spot in my heart for cripples, broken things and bastards" 
Very true, but I also think it captures the depth of the whole Game of Thrones universe in that often people who are enemies have to become allies, and allies can turn easily. A lot of Littlefinger's interactions with characters generally show him as an enemy to Starks and now Sansa must rely on him as an ally instead- it's quite powerful as well that essentially Littlefinger holds Sansa's whole being now, even her identity as Sansa Stark is a secretshe must rely on him to keep, whilst trusting him to help her forge a new one. It really is quite a complex bond (but what bond isn't in this series?)

I think my issue with the books is there isn't much internal dialogue as you would expect. Don't get me wrong, I love GRRM for the world he's given us, but I find there's so much more emotion in the show, which is unusual. I love that quote from Tyrion. I related to it quite heavily when he first said it, and I still do, really. I have to admit Jon hasn't been one of my favourite characters. I don't know, he seemed a bit devoid of any real spark or personality for me, but in the previous two seasons he really grew on me, but Littlefinger and Roose I think are my overall favourites ― and undoubtedly two of the smartest characters in the series. Haha, yes! The bitter irony in Ramsay being legitimised, eh? Still, he might get the chop this series if the rumours are true. . .
I was going to say, yeah, what bond isn't essentially that complex in the series. It's amazing. I watched an interview with Michael McElhatton recently and he described it really well, like if LOTR is about good vs evil, GOT is about all of what's in between, and how all the connections are so interwoven and just become tighter and more complex with each passing series. He's right. That's what makes the show for me. The flawed and incredibly human characters.

I agree quite heavily with your point there which IS strange considering how much detail goes into the book and the world...but I find that the show and the books balance each other quite nicely in that aspect, but also the book gives you just enough information to let your imagination run wild to fill in the blanks with what you would imagine. In that way it's almost like everyone's reading a different story. I love that quote from Tyrion too! I've loved quite a few of his and relate to them heavily and I think that might be one of the reasons he's one of my favourite characters consistently (Other people overtime have grown on me- sansa and Jon, Jaime, etc) and it's interesting to see how each character will "play the game" (though thank GOD (spoiler alert) Ramsay did finally kick the bucket and in a very interesting way too- I found it somewhat ironic that after the Hound nd Sansa's complex relationship...sansa then used actual hounds to kill Ramsay)
I truly haven't encountered a series like it, and I would agree with that analogy- LOTR is clearcut Good VS. Evil (I'm not a fan but even I can see that)...and Game Of Thrones is that AND everything in between! and it feels like in a way it makes everything that much deeper and feel more realistic despite the obvious fantasy base- because you really do feel that these characters are more human but you also can SEE how everything decision ripples out to potentially affect EVERYONE even if they're thousands of miles away.

You're welcome Haha, well, yeah juicy is definitely one word for it! I have a bit of a thing for older guy, younger women ships. I do think Sansa's gonna chew Littlefinger up and spit him out one day soon, though. It shall be fun to watch!
Same here! I ship Jamie and Brienne too, seconded behind Sansa and Petyr. Those two were fun to draw, as well! Ohhh I don't know who else . . . I used to be a fan of the Daenerys and Jorah thing, but not so much anymore. I suppose Arya and Jaqen too, but that'd need a few more years to develop, I think!

I didn't like Jaime at first either, it wasn't until Brienne came in to the picture that you got to learn more about his true nature. I haven't read the books (waiting until he actually finishes writing them

I do, yeah! I like Ramsay's sheer and utter sadistic madness. I generally like villains more than protagonists for some reason. His dad's something else, though. He's quite a complex cookie. One minute he's this soft-spoken gentleman, then he's this slippery, sinister, shady character. I love it.

I'm kind of a dom, so any where Brienne is showing him up would be kind of hot, but then the emotion filled stuff is right up there as well! That scene where he collapses in the bath house and she saves him after he tells her the truth about the King Slayer bit sent me all swooning LOL! I'm a tard, don't mind me!
Ramsay! He IS! 0o Such a meanie! I actually felt bad for Theon even though after what he did, he kind of deserved his fate. You are a villain's fan as well! That is so awesome! XD I've always been a villain's girl over the hero unless the hero was an anti-hero type mostly because a flawed nature feels more human to me, that and I often fancy spanking them LOL! *blush*
I look forward to reading the books. Probably just as well I'm waiting as I still have another two years of school to get my 4 year degree in logistics management, and it leaves very little free time with having a 3yr old, a newborn, and an average of 10 to 12 hour work day 0o

Fitting in anything creative can be super difficult. I'm taking advantage of my maternity leave now
My pirate campaign is a dungeon and dragons campaign I'm running based in the 1700's (end of the pirate era) where the players are pirates and I'm taking them on a journey starting in Nassau where the royal navy has shown up to reinstate marshal law, they escaped the island to be beset by a hurricane depositing them to an uncharted island. They've boarded the island to find a ship wrecked on the rocks with no bodies. They set off in to the jungle and see a campfire in the distance (that's where they left off.... we will have game again this coming Wed night, where I plan to open up some more hopefully fun adventure to play.

I'd never really warmed to Theon's personality before that, but I think doing what he did was a lot to do with the pressure he placed on himself since going back to Pyke. The lengths people will go to for sibling rivalry, I tell you.
Nah, you're not odd at all. We all have our "things." I'm not short on my weird fetishes, but I do see the attraction to it. I have read before many people say it's the emotional aspect. I'm not one to judge in that regard!
Same here!! I tend to just hone in on their vulnerabilities. I find I can identify with them far more than the protagonists, too. I think a part of me see's them all as hurt and rejected children, afraid of humiliation and being outwitted. You know, I'm aware Loki has this huge fan base (Hiddleston, too) There's scarcely a page I come across on here that doesn't have some Loki fan art tucked away somewhere. I know him from Norse mythology, of course, but I've never read the comics or seen the Thor films. I think I need to put it on my "to-do" list, just to see what the fuss is all about. I'd love to read your fan fiction once I do! I shall bookmark it!

Oh really?! Brilliant Me too, oddly enough! I was a complete tomboy as a little girl. Swords, archery . . . I was obsessed with Zelda and folkloric / mythological / medieval tales (still am, to be honest) It definitely is, I agree. I mean, I know some of the world's greatest black belts are tiny Asian women and all credit to them, but for pure brute strength it's certainly more fitting in this instance. I admire the effort Gwen put into just getting the part, too, putting on all that muscle and doing all that training.
Sweet! I’ve always loved all things medieval like that as well! Nice to meet another girl that doesn’t think me a weirdo for feeling that way! I didn’t know she’d gone through a lot of training and weight gain for the part. She looks really good, and playing that role has got to be really fun.

It’s crazy how many people fell head over heels for Loki after Tom played him LOL! Norse mythology is a neat look at gods, I’m a big fan for mythology overall and often wonder if people in the far future will look at the gods people worship now and think of them in the same manner. I wish I had seen it ME is such a fantastic actor in everything I’ve seen him in. L Rutger Hauer is amazing, his role as Roy Batty from Blade Runner is my fave role he’s done.
