My old friend and I today
Met at her favourite café

Her eyes were blue as the ocean shore
But in them I saw something I hadn't before

As her smile grew and her face glowed
I could feel my heart burrowed

To a place familiar to my aching heart
But just before I fell apart

Our lips met and I felt lifted
Off the cage which I was fitted

Pulling away, she smiled and laughed
My heart beating crazily fast

I met her with a full embrace
Arms behind each other my mind raced

"I love you", I said and said it truly
"I've always loved you", she said back, face teary

That night the moon was full and bright
We walked on by the lamplight

Hand in hand we watched the sky
And felt the world pass us by

I leaned against a tree and she
Rested her head against me

Soon we were sleeping, our love finally unshelled
Dreaming sweet dreams of what out future held
