Ten years ago, on July 18th, 2013, RWBY Volume 1 Chapter 1 'Ruby Rose' was released! One of my favorite things about the show is watching how much our main characters have grown. They have changed so much in who they are since the beginning, over coming their issues and being better people.

Weiss no longer has her superiority complex and cold/mean streak, her father’s influence including things like her racism is gone. Now, she might be the first to give a helping hand to someone she thinks needs it and fights to protect the people she loves.

Blake used to run away, and didn’t even know what she could do that was most right. Now, she’s found her path and has a promise she’ll keep of never fleeing from it. She has come to understand herself, and accept that others care about her even if that means risks: She will fight alongside them when they choose her.

Yang has found that she decides who means family to her, that who she defines herself by is her choice. And, I think that she has also found a drive to help people more than just as on the side. She lets the fire in her heart shine through to her fists as she fights for her world.

It also helps that Bumblebee is FINALLY canon after all this time.

Ruby has gone through a lot in Volume 9 with going through depression and Imposter Syndrome. Much of her childishness is gone, but in its place is a warrior whose soul still shines with idealistic hope. Hopefully, she continues to bring hope to others, so that she and the rest of her team can all keep growing and fighting.
