Now this bring good memory of watching Sailor Moon with my little sister. Its a ashame that in a world where Dragon Ball Z and Naruto are all the rage Sailor Moon is rarely mention. Sailor Moon to me is by far the best magical girl show, and proves that women can be just as tough as men are in animation.

From what I've heeard, Sailor Moon is still held in high regard, even if it isn't talked about as much.

That is nice to hear, because I really think Sailor Moon hold a special place in anime history as being one of the first show in anime with leading ladies. Too much of today anime especially concerning magical girls are too concern with fanservice and making the characters look like loli, rather than creating a universe that is engaging and complex as Sailor Moon.

Yap, guess it is a little surprising that DBZ is still a big thing while Sailor Moon has kinda faded away...then again I guess Kai kinda helped with DBZ as of late lol.

Yeah, especially since Sailor Moon pave the way for alot of Magical Girls to come here to the state and serve as a template for all Magical Girls today. Now she barely remembered as of late while Dragon Ball Z get so much attention. I guess it has to do with the fact that it is a lot more easier to sell anime aim toward boys, then it is to sell anime aim for girls, but when ever I think of strong female protagonist in anime I usually think of the girls of Sailor Moon.

Yap wasn't often you had the overall main characters be all females back then...or at least in an action battle type setup. I heard there might be a reboot or something of the show, but I don't know how accurate that is.

I disagree on the action part. Sailor Moon wasn't very action-packed.
In Sailor Moon, all the battles were basically this: She runs around a bit, goes "MOON TIARA MAGIC!" and then seals them away. That's it.
Or other times Usagi chickens out right in the middle, because she's a crybaby and coward.
-And then the other Sailor Scouts would have to do the honors for her, but still not making it a big action-packed Boss Fight.
-Or Tuxedo Mask would arrive and encourage her with a pep talk, then she'd just finish things with the whole "MOON TIARA MAGIC" business as usual (most often, this would be the case).
-Or she'd get saved by sheer dumb luck. That's it.
Not a big and long Boss Fight done in real time, with lots of Parkour Moves and Explosions and Cool Attacks to damage the foe until it goes down, like something you'd see in Final Fantasy, Xenoblade, Bayonetta, or other cool action-packed things like that.
Just "Moon Tiara Magic," and poof, the bad guy's gone.

You don't need to do kung fu to make it action packed.
If they're running around and dodging projectiles or enemy attacks, that is still action. Though most of the good guy fighting came from the other scouts for sure lol.
I don't see how their fighting is much different from Mami and her long range fighting style either. Just remember that Sailor Moon was virtually a G rated manga while the other is closer to PG-13 or worse too.

What I think he means to say is that it's different and better because it doesn't just use Reused Stock Footage Sequences. Yeah, that's a problem with most Magical Girl shows. They mostly just consist of just Stock Footage and then they win.
From what I remember of Sailor Moon, every single battle with them would be just them playing a Reused Stock Footage Attack Sequence like this that is the same exact one in every single episode with a swishy void-like background so it can be reused more easily in any episode, and then the bad guy falls. That's all.
This same exact reused scene every single episode and then she wins. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImdXOI…
Madoka Magica doesn't use Stock Footage though. That's how it's different and better.
Not saying that I don't like Sailor Moon though. I was just reading his comments and thought I'd clarify.

Because they last longer, and they are more remiscent of something I'd see in Final Fantasy, Xenoblade, Megaman X, or something like that.
Maho Shoujo's boss fights remind me of something I'd see like this. This isn't just over in a quick "MOON TIARA MAGIC." --> www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Ht-5Z…
Or this. --> www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYm9se…
(BTW, these were both from E-rated things)
With them pounding at the enemy's weakness and waiting for their defenses to be open and stuff like that. And with more explosions and stuff too!
Sailor Moon isn't like that.
Plus, the Maho Shoujos almost always first have to make it through the Witch Barrier Stages which are loaded with traps and enemy minions and such, before they make it to the Witch (with some exceptions, like the Last Boss, Walpurgis Night).
The bad guys sent by Queen Beryl don't have a trap and minion filled stage they have to make it through first. They just appear out in the open and cause chaos.
Also, the Maho Shoujos never say "WE WILL WIN BY USING THE POWERS OF LOVE" like they constantly do in Sailor Moon.
Also, the Maho Shoujos didn't need to rely on some Masked Mystery Man to give them some moral support.
Finally, I'd say that Madoka Magica is E-rated too. It has no blood and guts, no swearing, no sex, no drugs, and no nudity.
So what about what happened to Mami. There wasn't blood and guts gushing out everywhere. And aside from what happened to Mami, the other deaths were off-screen.
And stuff like DBZ had worse deaths without blood and guts and they were still E-rated (like Guldo getting his head chopped off by Vegeta, and Frieza stabbing Krillin to death with his horn).
I could name plenty more examples if you want too.
It's not like Fate/Stay Night, Kill La Kill, Elfen Leid, or Attack On Titan, which actually have blood and gushing spilling out everywhere when they die or get seriously injured. Now those are Really PG-13 and worse.

Either way, becoming a scout still beats becoming a Madoka magical girl hands down XP Sure the abilities might be better, but you virtually become a slave for life under the Madoka way as well as losing your flesh and blood body.
The only time Madoka would win would be if you badly need to make a wish to help save or fix your life. Of course we've also been shown that wishes tend to backfire often too.

Okay, lets compare the action and combat to another cooler Magical Girl anime then, so that you get what I'm trying to say better.
Like RWBY for instance. You've seen RWBY, right? They'd be considered Magical girls, wouldn't they?
Well in RWBY, it's also more action-packed with their fights against The Grimm, Roman Torchwick's forces, and such.
They actually have big Boss Fights done in real time, with lots of Parkour Moves and Explosions and Cool Attacks to damage the foe until it goes down, and using stuff like Sniper Rifle Scythes and Power Fists, and such.
And it's never just finished instantly with a MOON TIARA MAGIC like thing. Nor do the RWBY girls have to rely on some Masked Mystery Man to give them some moral support.
Like this one for instance. The Boss Fight against Torchwick in his PALADIN Mecha. Perhaps the most awesome Boss Battle in the series! --> www.youtube.com/watch?v=na5xyU…
See? They don't just so something like MOON TIARA MAGIC and *Poof*, the enemy is gone. They engage them in an all out Boss Fight to the bitter end with lots of cool attacks and explosions and more, and it lasts a lot longer too, and is so much more Epic because of that!
Plus, the bad guys in those are more cooler and such too.
The random minions in Sailor Moon, on the other hand, always are really humanoid and look more like people in costumes, with small features such as pointy ears or fangs to show that they aren't human, and I could never take them seriously because of that.
Like the majority of the bad guys in Sailor Moon looked more like this. --> i.imgur.com/SGtzZ3N.jpg
Do you get what I mean about Sailor Moon not being action-packed like you say it is now?
RWBY is another good example of a Magical girl series that is truly action-packed, unlike Sailor Moon

Weren't we trying to argue about which power we'd rather get?
How action packed a series is doesn't alter which one to go for So much as the pros an cons of the power XD

Yap, next to the Power Puff Girls you rarely see cartoon with leading ladies in them that can hold their own in a fight. Though I guess Avatar Legend of Korra counts, but for some reason she doesn't come off as badass as the Sailor Scouts or the Power Puff Girls.
Also, I didn't know they were going to make a reboot out of Sailor Moon that cool, especially with today animation technique.
