Did you get The Nightmare Princess version? That's the true latest instalment.

There's multiple ending, actually.
At least 4, I think.
Two good, two evil endings. It all various as you see fit. Who you kill, who your armour-break at, and I guess who you capture instead of killing.

Not really. The story from Blood Ties remains the same, but as a re-released game, now you can choose and replay completed levels even without completing the whole game. So in case you get stuck on a level, you can go back to previous played chapters, rack up some Ark points to unlock traps and abilities.
In the Nightmare Princess, there's a second story that focuses on the new character Velguirie, the Nightmare Princess and the second daughter of the Demon King. Her story is similar to Laegrinna's: Revive her father, but in order to do so, she has to deliver Nightmares to her victims. Interesting twist: Velguirie encounters her sister Laegrinna....and attempts to kill her (lovely sister bond). Velguirie even encounters other Princesses from past Deception games.
And yes, you can play as them. Allura, Reina, and Millennia. But you have to kill them first in the Quest Tree that contains over 100 different quests.
I'm not sure if there's multiple endings for that one.

So based on this i guess. It really depends on how you view the character, whether you view her as evil or good.
that makes me want to get nightmare princess now. I never played deception until now. and i regret never getting one of the past games. because this game is pretty fun.
yeah i heard those 3 were playable but wasnt sure. if they had thier own story or not

I haven't played the past Deception games either. They were unique at the time; setting up traps and all.
The franchise made a good comeback with the 4th instalment after Trapt for the PS2 (released in the early 2000s).
In past Deception games, you activate one trap at a time. I guess Koei-Tecmo thought it would be fun to activate one after another as combos. Not only that, but strategizing too.
The extra characters don't get a story of their own, but rather be part of Velgurie's story and die by her hands. As playable characters however, each have their unique techniques and limitations.
Millenna, the first protagonist in the first-two Deception games can only use 3 traps at a time which is a reference nod to the past Deceptions where she can only set 3 traps.
The others I have yet to unlock. The Quest Tree is bigger than you can imagine; 100 quests and all.
Fun fact: Deception IV The Nightmare Princess made a live-action commercial, but not with the actual characters. Just a live-action parody; a Japanese version of Home Alone lol.
