Edison Gold is a policeman who works as a member of, as well as a colleague and close friend of Detective Damian Swann. But in contrast to the rigid and serious Swann, Edison is timid, hesitant, and pacifistic. More often than not, he is very reluctant to get physical while on the job, regardless of whether the assailant is a notorious criminal or even an entitled civilian, and would rather try to deescalate the problem at hand with words, but inevitably he'll be forced into getting physical to both preserve his life and not let someone walk all over him, whether this is from Swann or another colleague spurring him to do so, or if his opposition is beginning to test this pacifistic cop's patience.
