I use Wacom Intuos 4 (Medium size). It's a really good tablet!

If I've been drawing pictures on 8x11 paper, would you recommend a smaller/bigger tablet?

It doesn't really matter because when you install the tablet, it will automatically adjust the size of the screen (the tablet is your screen if you know what I mean).
