Dear Gorillaz
Soon you are having your 20´s anniversary, and for that occasion I wanted to take a look back and to let you guys know how much your work influenced my life.
I was barely 10 years old when I heard your music for the first time in the radio. Something about it just blew my tiny mind.
It was ~Tomorrow Comes Today~
I think 2D´s voice was my first crush. Strange to think of that, but true.
A few years later puberty hit me with all bad and strange consequences - We had our Demon Days at the same time. The album carried me through alot of twisted depressed days, it was on my MP3-player for over 5 years.
In late 2009 I decided to drop out of school and just to concentrate on my art. Yet I felt incredibly lost on an ocean of possibilities -
I struggled and stranded.
On Plastic Beach.
Again, just at the right time my musical superheroes came to save my day.
2017. After my Dad passed away I fell into an apathy, above anything I had known. Grief and work consumed me, I was about to break. While I had Youtube on Autoplay by accident, I suddenly heard the dashing voice of Grace Jones and I got re-charged.
Humanz was a lifesaver.
Now we´re in the Now Now, and your music is still part of my daily life. Honestly, I have no idea how my life would look now if your crazy and admired creators had not brought you and your music to life.
Thank you Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, and a huge THANK YOU to everyone who ever played or sang a tune for the Gorillaz - you guys are the best!
Take care, the world needs you!

My tribute to the Gorillaz. I love this band far too much, and after nearly 20 years I think a fanart tribute is in order.
I wanted to include details from all phases, but there´s alot Demon Days there - flying islands, Noodle and her acoustic guitar... Murdoc is gonna take a bath
It´s drawn on Bristol paper, I switched to this papetype last week and it´s amazing! Alas my scanner wanted to troll me and scanned the green and yellow hues in a very ugly way - the picture is tweaked in GIMP a bit to at least let the green look like green. It was an awefull grey before... I think I need a new scanner -.-
Drawn with fineliners on Hahnemühle Bristol paper, colored with COPICmarkers.
PS: I might ad a background soon, but so far I kinda like it this way and did´nt wanted to ruin it with a unfitting BG
