Okay, I love your pieces and your work is fantastic... but from one poly-clay artist to another... are you willing to discuss how you deal with poly-clay fragility? Are there wires in your clay? Cause I've had clay pieces carefully watched and baked and cared for - crumble snap and break all to pieces in only a few months.
Then I see all these beautiful fragile pieces like the incredible detail work that you put into your pendants and I'm like... How is this not falling apart in a week and why is it that all mine seem to suffer that effect... Any words of wisdom to impart?

I hope I can give you some usefull tips, but these are all mre or less guesses, since I don´t use a secret skill that I´m really aware of
For my pendants I use no wires, I find it extremely difficult to wrap clay arround it smoothly, so I experimented alot with different clays and bakingtimes/temperatures, to find a way to bake the clay into a more resilient shape.
After some time I found SuperSculpey(the fleshcolored stuff) to be the most brittle, no matter how it´s kiln. I only do big things with this clay, because thin details are so delicate, it feels as they´d break by only looking at them.
For my pendants I usually take FIMO clays or Premo/Sculpey. FIMO stays quiet bendable - if you bake it at 110°-120°Celsius for 20-25 min.
The instruction says 130°C for 30min per 5mm, which leaves you with very hard clay that is quiet breakable.
How breakable a clay is depends also on the color.
The standartcolors, metallic hues and trancelucend clays from FIMO seem neigh indestructable, while colors like black or the glittercolors break more easily (<- especially if baked like the instruction says)
For most intricate pendants I add a layer of clear resin on the backside, to assure all seams are closed and to give it more stability.
Still, I´m quiet surprised how well my more delicate pieces old up, while in some rare cases I pack a more simple piece as carefull and gentle as possible and it arrives in 100 shards...

I am experiencing a case of chronic want right now. Even if I'd only end up hanging it in my room....... But no money. Makes me sad. :'-(
