Drew straight ahead. When you look at the image on top, you see that line next to the drawing, had to remove it in photoshop. 99% of my sketches are done straight ahead with ballpoint pen.

Then do you have a good tutorial on scanning and cleaning up on Photoshop! When I do it, it turns out with less-than-sastifactory results.

Not really. Even I have trouble. Best way to find some would be in comic related forums. And depends what you want to scan. Colored artwork looks pretty bad when I scan it too. Even trying to make the colors look like the original drawing is hard and pretty much impossible. Black/white stuff is easier. I desaturate and use the "curves" in Photoshop to get what I want.
