Since Wat has the ability to regenerate chopped off parts, I think the way he gets weaker is not by loss of body parts/blood/etc, but by loss of energy which causes he will get smaller till he eventually disappears. And goes back to normal by consuming energy. He also can change size and distort his surroundings at his will.
