Description I was asked to do more bob ross, so here is another ok not exactly bob ross but freehand drawing in Painter and PSP.

I'm not happy with the edges. Any advice ho to make such pictures better is greatly appreciated because I am a beginner at this kind of painting.

And as mostly with paintings: it looks much better if you are a bit away from the monitor (at least imho)

Ah, man. That's such a beautiful image. Really warm and majestic. Reminds me of all the Turkish sunsets I watched from my roof top back in the day.

I don't know anything about Painter or PSP, or how you went about creating this, so I cannot offer much for those edges.
The best I can say is to use a medium-to-hard brush at a small size to paint the outlines and shapes so you have more control, but the edges wont look too sharp. Then it's just a matter of blending in the sky with the edges of the city. If you created the city and sky on different layers, that might be part of the problem. It's cool to start off on different layers, but eventually merge them together and start working them off one another to perfect the edges and whatnot. Bah I don't think that made sense.

Also, what's with the color change in the city? The dark oranges and reds just suddenly stop and the rest of it is gray. Am I missing something?

Oh and the sky is just fucking amazing, really well done there.

You should do more digital paintings. You've got quite a skill for it, for sure.

Thank you for your great feedback. Your comments are always a pleasure to read. Very few people look at the pictures so closely and think about them, not to speak of commenting them this detailedly.

Yes sky and city were on differnt layers. I think I tried to blend them. the color change wasn't intended. my screen was a bit too dark when painting this, so I didn't notice.
It's the area where I stopped blending the sky, because it would be in deep shadow.

No problem man. I can't help but babble.

Yeah, I figured it was a problem with the screen. I get that problem all the damned time, because I work on an imac. I finish up a piece, getting ready to upload it then I tilt my screen down to find that I'm not as finished as I thought I was

You painted this? O_O Wow.. very nice.

I think there's supposed to be something like a cresent moon and a star on top of the dome of the mosque, but I might be wrong... It's been a while since I've seen a mosque since I'm not in my home country for now.

Anyway, I love the sky! It's so pretty.

I like it. -^^- Because of the buildings being so dark, and not a lot of detail in it, it allows the mind to see things that could be going on. It really gives a feeling of the heavy shadow, and makesme shiver because it feels cold. ANd I love the soft colors of the sunset. Very good contrast. -^^-
