It's funny that I'd heard of Boulder Dash, but not Supaplex, even though both games share similarities. Thanks for the info.

I still have my DOS 6.22 install disks and the manual.
I just use DOS Box these days.
I used to make batch files / programs all the time, back in the day. I found out how you could change the colours with them as well, but I’d forgotten it until I found this old magazine in my stuff.
Actually, I still use batch files in Windows 7. I made some for my game launcher program.
Yep, so nice stamp.
(My mouse cursor is black, so you didn't trick me.)

I use dos too. not MS-DOS but FreeDOS on my 386DX-33MHz with 16MB of RAM and 4GB HD (i use XT-IDE from vintage-computer dot com ), ISA NIC card for internet / NetWare 3.11 file server acess , a Linux that boot from dos.

I even write a word processing program base on CU Word maybe version 1.4 (vintage thai popular word processor in thailand before MS-Word) source code that can type thai , english and print out from a dotmatrix printer!

Whoa! I have a pc that still runs DOS, it's in the loft and i think it has 8mb of RAM and a Pentium 90, it also has win 95 on it but that went to hell, but DOS still works!!!

Garetiem In reply to scar112 [2008-11-03 20:20:21 +0000 UTC]

darn, my worst computer, a 8 year laptop, has 64 MB RAM, and 300 Mhz Pentium II...
it runs Windows XP, but just only...
if it had more RAM, i'm sure it could run it without the big problems...

scar112 In reply to Garetiem [2008-11-03 21:27:21 +0000 UTC]

yeah, but it wouldn't be worth it... it clearly sucks and your money would be best invested in a much better computer...

What is DOS like?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ThunderClawShocktrix In reply to SpikeTheCat9192 [2015-10-07 19:38:58 +0000 UTC]

basically you type in what you want the computer to do, and it does it if you cave it a valid command
like say
cd\programs\msword\
msword
*word starts*

Garetiem In reply to german-dragon [2008-07-07 15:10:24 +0000 UTC]

just thought you said 40 GB HDD and 2 GB RAM

tell me, what is the weight of such an oldie..?

i've updated my 8-9 year old with windows XP, it has 64 MB RAM and it weights around 3 KG or so, it's in pieces at the moment, as i'm replacing the old cooling paste, bet your 17 old doesn't have paste, if it even has heat problems

äh, little Question, how can I put this stamp into my Journal?!?

Garetiem In reply to german-dragon [2008-07-07 22:32:38 +0000 UTC]

it's going to melt down

cool... it's white, it's an iBrick

oh, and you can't put images in your journal without a subscription (which costs real money), else it'll be ":thumb73836293:" (without the "") to add it to your journal...

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

german-dragon In reply to Garetiem [2008-07-08 02:42:49 +0000 UTC]
