He, like all the Koopa kids, are originally from Super Mario Bros 3. They later showed up in Super Mario World, and recently have been revived in New Super Mario Bros Wii.

Don't forget he with his other siblings(Except for Bowser Jr.) made another appearance in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga near the end of the game and that they were slated to make an appearance in Super Princess Peach.. but got replaced instead.

"The Warrior"
Roy had always been the strongest of the royal Koopalings, both physical and emotionally. Nothing was to hard for him to handle, no task to tiresome, no burden to heavy. That was until his father's corpses was brought to the castle, then Roy felt something he never felt before. He felt weak.
He just stood there looking at his father's cold dead body, he couldn't move, he couldn't speak, all Roy could do was stand there as his world fell apart. Finally he could no longer take it and he ran to his room. He never felt so ashamed of himself, he should have done something, he should have gone with his father, he should have comforted his siblings, he should have gone and hunt down the murder. But instead he fled like a weak coward to his room.
Roy felt his anger, shame, and guilt grow and blend until they became nothing more than blind furry. And in his rage Roy started smashing everything he could with his magic wand but no matter how much he crushed and bashed he never felt any better.
Finally Roy was to tired to smash anymore so he fell to his knees and began to cry like a baby, as the shame and guilt returned.

I love your interps of the koopalings, they are very detailed and amazingly rendered. I also like the contrast of shadows that you put on his chin to show how bright the wand is.
