Description I've had an idea for this character that I wanted to do that had a real old school feel to it, and I wanted a Golden Age type of name for the character too. So here is, The Crimson Crusader! or CC for short.

CC came around from a day I spent on wikipedia looking at references to old Golden Age superheroes. I wanted to come up with something like that too.

The Crimson Crusader has superhuman strength and can resist extreme temperatures. He can run faster, and jump higher than Olympic athletes, and has heightened senses due to the Recharge Pills he takes.

Here's the fun part:
Danny Thompson, The Crimson Crusader, was never very athletic, or extremely talented at anything, just a plain ordinary young man. He answered an advertisement for a lab technician job through the paper, and started to work for a quirky old man named Dr. Henry who claimed to be a genius. Danny didn't think much of the old man's ranting and muttering and kept the laboratory pretty clean five days a week. One day when Danny showed up for work the old man was delirious with excitement! He was dancing around the laboratory and showed Danny a tiny red pill. The old man said that he had invented the perfect metabolism/energy pill that would make him rich beyond his dreams. Before Danny could say anything the old man stuffed the little red pill into Danny's mouth and clasped his hands over Danny's mouth to ensure it was swallowed! Danny didn't realize he had swallowed the pill and started to feel a weird energy course through his body. He looked down and his muscles started to ache and tremble. The next second Danny's entire body was energized and he felt incredibly different. Danny closed his eyes as he winced from the pain of his aching body and the muscle spasms. When he opened his eyes he was looking down at the old man, who was looking at Danny in disbelief. Danny had grown an extra foot to an even 6'5'' and was in someone else's body. This new body was strong and coursing with speed, he fely like he could jump over the Empire State Building!

Dr. Henry made Danny sit down and started to run tests on Danny immediately. Over the next ten hours Danny started to revert back to his old body and felt weaker every hour after. Dr. Henry deduced that the red pill, which he dubbed Recharge Pills, were responsible for Danny's superhuman transformation, and that the results would last for a maximum of ten hours. Danny, with a smile on his face, asked "Do you have more of this stuff?"

After that Danny became the superhero known as The Crimson Crusader. He works out of Dr. Henry's laboratory and keeps a handful of the Recharge pills with him at all times. Once the ten hours are up CC becomes Danny, and back to his normal uneventful self.

It seems like a winner for me! A golden-age style hero is a must-have for any respectable comic book universe.

And the tricky position you put the leg in looks nifty. Yay perspective!

Nice design and concept man, for me you most work a lil bit on the pose maybe with some real photo reference, because the leg looks a lil bit off for me

I get a Roger Ramjet vibe from this.

Man, you can create!!!! I love heroes who are not unlimited. It makes them more human because they will eventually have foibles. And what if he's battling with a particular villian and it's been 9 hours and 45 minutes??

Great stuff! MORE!

I hate it when characters are invulnerable and constantly kicking butt. One big drawback to Superman for me.

I can just see him lifting a car over his head at 9 hours and 58 minutes......
More to come

everyone has pretty much said what there is to be said. thats rockin bro.
this pic is better than anything i can do, but the C seems to pop out funny, maybe its because he's leaning forward but the C isn't

I agree with you 100%, it's been bugging me since I potsed it. Maybe some shading or tweaking is needed....

i think it just needs to be leaning forward like her is. so the bottom of the C would look smaller than the top, cause you have it like he's standing up straight, but the body is leaning towards you

fun stuff.
A little PeterParker and a little SteveRogers w/ an expiration date, like Hulk.
Good biz.

when do we get the side-by-side comparison between the scrawny kid & CC?

I think you should double the "C" on his chest by adding a line or putting another "C" within the "C." If you checked it out and went with it anyway, or if you didn't know, Marvel does have a CrimsonCrusader. He's kinda like a lame WonderTwin...so you're safe as far as uniqueness etc. But just for the heads up.

The C on his chest IS a little boring. I'll give the double C a try (didn't think of it). Damn, I didn't know there was a Crimson Crusader..... oh well, F it. My character is better

The side by side comparison shot is coming, the rough drafts were started immediately after.

Cool idea. I like heroes with gimmicks and limitations. It's definitely got that extraordinary Golden Age feel. I like the immune to extreme temperatures bit.

Yeah, I didn't want to make him bulletproof but I did want to make it to where he could run into a burning building to save everyone! Glad you like the concept buddy.
