DA-NA-NA-NAAAAAAAAAA!!!!Well, look who it is – it’s Link!!!
Link is another character who doesn’t really need any introduction and those who’ve been following my blog throughout June will know that I’ve been featuring Zelda only designs in honour of the release of Ocarina of Time 3D and Link’s Awakening DX.
Link is stitched on 14-HPI antique-white aida using Anchor Threads. The lettering is stitched using DMC colour variations shade #4200 and the Triforce is stitched using DMC light effects shade #E3852.

The gold thread was the most annoying thing I've ever experienced!
Oh, and the pattern says DMC 403 instead of DMC 310...

Gold thread is annoying. The trick is to use shorter lengths and invest in some thread conditioner (ie Thread Heaven) which prevents snagging. Thanks for the heads up re the pattern error - I've amended that!

Yeah, the gold thread isn't something I'm gonna use again willingly for a while... But it still came out looking pretty damned awesome!
And no problem. I was a little confused when I couldn't find any 403 in DMC at the shop, but they had a conversion chart there, and a quick check made me realise that it was supposed to be 310, which I had plenty of at home.
In hindsight, I probably should have realised just by looking at the pattern, as the colour was used for the outline... which are usually black...

Apologies again for the mix up with the thread numbers. Sometimes it's easy to do when your in a rush to make up patterns and I don't always spot the errors until after the pattern is posted.
I have had occasions myself when I've gone to my local thread shop and written numbers down wrong - the look of confusion on the shop keepers face is classic!
Going back to the gold thread, don't give up with it! Metallics are frustrating, but their sparkliness can certainly bring to life any stitching.
