Actually when Superman traveled through a boom tube with Orion, Orion explained that the Earth is the size of a dust speck to the average New God, just that the Boom Tubes make them the appropriate size for their destination, so in actuality Darkseid is Far Bigger than either Supes or Thanos, plus even in his Earth size Darkseid can still manipulate his size.
