lets talk color bleed on those markers. I know the better brands have less of an issue and paper is a big part of it. Do you find those primacolor brand markers on the same level as copic for lack of/less bleed? or is the only really trick is to not need to over color/saturate ?

To be honest, I've never used Copics, but I don't find bleed to be much of an issue. If you look at Deadpool there in the center, he's completely saturated with color, and there might be a little bleed, but nothing awful. I usually wait till after all of the coloring is complete to do the black outlines on the figures, but that's more because I have a sloppy hand than anything with the marker. Actually, I've been seeing people doing some stellar work with Crayola markers recently lol. I'm tempted to go out and buy a bunch, since they're dirt cheap, and see if I can do anything with them.

yeah I have seen a lot of non-mass produced stuff being done with regular markers these days as well. I only ask about bleed because so many of the other brands that are cheaper than copic/prisma are awful for bleed. Lauren has some that I don't really know the brand they bleed like a mo'fo

I know which ones you're talking about! The ones that emit those putrid fumes that make you pass out if you use them for too long! I've got one of those, and I can't stand using it. Not only does it bleed, it smears like crazy on top of completely reeking.

the issue hasn't come up with blacks (I actually use the same markers you do for blacks, i need a set of grays) its actually for negative space or area around the figure that is more heavily saturated so it requires a lot of cover up or masking which is not really doable in some situations. I'll have to try a small set of prisma color markers like you use and see if I like them before investing in copics, I had some back in the day and they were great, just costly for not being on payroll to do coloring in marker lol
