Description Let me start by saying, I love animals, trust me, I much prefer the study of animals and the company of animals to most people. But there's something that bothers me, on the both humanaboo and animalaboo arguments.

Humanaboos typically have this "humans are more important than anything" philosophy, they disregard the environment, natural order, the function of ecosystems and just about everything else not strictly human related. And it's people like this that don't care if endangered species go extinct, they don't care if vast chunks of forest are wiped out or what lives in them, same for the oceans, and really there's only a few words I can use to describe them. Selfish, Irresponsible, Greedy, Heartless. What they fail to realize is, nature effects us too, in many ways. We pollute and fill up our oceans and lakes and rivers with garbage- we have less and less to drink, we destroy more and more forests we get less medicine, less paper goods, less tree sap, etc- and that's just from the land itself- you wipe out the animals along with it, no more tasty venison treats, no more wild game, no more clean or stocked fishing spots, in nature, including humans believe it or not, everything is interconnected. Every action has a reaction, cause and effect- shit you should have learned back in third grade.

So is it ok or should it be ok to just wipe out whatever we want whenever we want? no. it's needless, the loss of resources and the animals that depend on them as much as we do is completely preventable as well. Don't care about animals? Then at least care about you, your future generation and that kinda thing (even though I really hope you care more than just about people or yourself)

Then on the flipside Animalaboos...Think animals are gods and that humans have no place here, some of them think it's entirely reasonable or expectable that a human should just let a wild animal kill them. Say a tiger attacks a man, nearly kills him, but he shoots it to save himself. in these people's eyes he's the bad guy- he doesn't have to be a poacher, or out to kill anything, he could be hiking, spending time at his cabin up in the mountains, the tiger is hungry or sees him as a threat or that he's invading territory it's marked or something and that's what sets it off. People shouldn't be expected to not defend themselves against an attack. Prey animals aren't, i've seen deer run through coyotes or swing their racks at bears to defend themselves or their young- so why should humans be expected to just lay down and die or be demonized if they don't when an animal attacks?
There's also the ones that are vegan and stuff (not saying that alone is a bad thing) but some of them treat meat eaters like shit, or say we dont love or care about animals when people like myself who do enjoy a nice ribeye once in a while, are actually very much concerned about the welfare of animals both domestic and non. Or how about the ones that think animals should have just about every right humans do-- yep shit you not, theres people out there that think animals should be able to get married, have to sign papers or somehow 'agree' to performance on movies and shows, and all kinds of other wacky shit. Which just...no. There's no reason to believe animals have an issue well, being animals- and until/if we can actually communicate with them in our own language or whatever there's no reason to think a dog wants a million dollars to be starred in a movie or that a circus monkey wants his stage name copyrighted.

However it is entirely reasonable to say animals of any kind, deserve to have a fair, safe life and that those owned by humans deserve to be taken care of so they live a life free of abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Because one thing we do know is, once you take in an animal they are your responsibility and they depend on you to look out for them.

(whoo boy that was long)

tl;dr?

BOTH humans and animals are important, animals shouldn't be constantly hunted down to extinction or to that point, their habitats should be replenished and taken care of by us since we're using most of -their- homes, even if we have our own- and not just for them, for us and our future too. Humans have a right to defend themselves if their lives are in danger, idc if the animal is endangered or not- it's life or death. No one's a shitty person for eating meat, and go ahead and throw cutsey weddings for your dogs- just don't expect it to be legally registered and recognized.

I definitely agree with this stamp. Both humans and animals are important. Humans shouldn't hunt animals to extinction and their habitats should be taken care of as though they were gardens.

On the flip side, a human shouldn't be demonized for shooting or killing an animal in self defense or eating meat. Personally, I am a vegetarian, but I don't really care if someone eats meat or it. Only thing I wish meat eaters would do is put a little more research into where their food is coming from because I really don't want factory farms to make more money on their cruel treatment of animals and I'm sure a lot of people would feel the same if they knew what they were doing to these animals.
