Kyle portals to the City in the pre-catastrophe era to search for the future General of the Human Army. He has only known the City as a Ruin, dangerous and deadly. The contrast of a peaceful robust center of life, commerce and entertainment are foreign to him.

But somewhere, within this sea of steel and concrete, exists a young man who possesses the cunning and intellect needed. All that Kyle knows is that an Assassin Drone almost succeeded in taking John out the year before, but the time travel had left residual damage and the drone detonated early.

John was known to be a Prodigy across systems, programming, games and advanced mathematics. He recognized the debris was completely alien. He began to discover rumors and vids of similar machines seemingly appearing out of nowhere, and online chatter said a few had been looking for a ‘John Connor’. Putting two and two together he realized that he was their target, so went off-grid. He now lives completely within the Underworld under a false identity. Technology of the day was good enough for him to wear synthetic bio markers, so it was going to be a challenge to find him.

The stakes are high. In his timeline John leads the armed forces. But that is only going to happen if Kyle makes first contact and starts training John for survival of what will come. There are already multiple time loops in play, but only one successful connect is needed to heal the bridge and stabilize the flow. Time jumps must be used carefully, as each trip alters key details of both past and future. Unless Kyle can make his first contact before another Machine does, Kyle’s future timelines will fray and his very existence will split him down to the atoms.
