Description A brook, stream, river, whatever have you.

This weekend, my sister (Kat), my cousin and I went to visit my aunt in North Tarrytown, now known as Sleepy Hollow. Whilst our mothers went about their sister togetherness, we could think of no better cousin togetherness than hitting the the graveyards.

This is a photograph I took of the river on the bridge behind the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. It was raining and cold, so it was a nice, foggy visit. Though, it is not the "actual" bridge that I am standing on, it is wooden and the atmosphere was a bit more like how you would imagine it in the story by Irving. That's right, the place where the real "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" Bridge is, is stone now. What a let-down. Oh well, I had fun "grave trekking" with my relatives.

I have more photos coming up, so stick around.

Thats place is really called sleepy hollow? If it really is, what state is it in that picture.
I really don't care if the brigde it made of stone. As long as it's real as you say.
I'm a huge fan of legend of sleepy hollow - one of my very favorite tales of Halloween.

It's in New York, near the Hudson River, North of Tarry Town.

So, sleepy Hollow IS a real place, huh? COOL!
I was thinking you would say that it's somewhere in the upper coutryside of New York.

Though it used to be called East Tarrytown. Sleepy Hollow is actually a small hollow just north of East Tarrytown. In the 1980s, the town of East Tarrytown official changed its name when its car factory, its source of livelihood closed down. Changing the name to Sleepy Hollow was done in hopes of boosting tourism to make up for the money it was not making from producing cars.

Is East Terrytown a "small town" in the counryside of New York?
And when you said, sleepy hollow is a small hollow,is it like, a small wooded area or something? Just curious, is all. I mean, in the story, there was a small town not too far from the hollow. And to me, when you told me there is an actual sleepy hollow in the upper area countryside of New York, I thought that was really interesting. That meant a lot to me.
Again, that really cool.

Awesome. Yeah, I'm glad that they had a replica, if you see the real bridge, you get sort of disappointed. My only solace was at least my Aunt's house is on the wrong side of the brigde and I got to sleep on the wrong side all night ^.^ *Now goes to see your pics....
