New SW movie was a load of crap, IMHO. Not only it shows that Disney execs are greedy pricks, but scenario is such a bullshit. And to make an insult to injury: in books, Luke and Mara's soon is named BEN - Han and Leia's firstborn was ANAKIN. In book, CHEWIE dies while in movie, HAN dies. It is obvious that Jerk Jerk Abrams and whoever helped him write that script were fully aware that they didn't have much to work with, so they just fucked it up as much as they could. I weep for the franchise.

Ah, friend there is an opportunity to make our franchise even better. Imagine if we made Ep. 7 EXACTLY like the EU. It just wouldn't be much of a surprise plot twist now, would it? Certainly the death of Han Solo was upsetting to everyone, and that is the point. We need a movie that is emotionally moving to the audience, (hence a "Luke I am your father" moment)

You gotta be kidding me! Less than 2 weeks till I can finally see it on DVD & Han dies!?! CRAP!!! Next thing you'll be *spoiling* is that Luke is only in there for 5 minutes or so. Man!
LOL, just kidding. I haven't seen the movie yet, but the net didn't let me go for long without this bomb.
I love this. You did an excellent job of mixing these 2 ideas together. I'm not sure if this scene is in the movie or not. I see it later, but regardless, everything looks very cool.

Now to show how old I am, and picky..... You have got your dates wrong. The Death of Phoenix was publish in 1980, and Crisi on Infiinite Earths was published in 1985.

No problem. Truth be told had to check it myself, but read both of those when they came out, so I was sure that Byrne's tenure at X-Men was before Crisis, because at the time of Crisis he was working for DC (he did the Man of Steel miniseries retelling the post-crisis origin of Superman).
