Description
I wasn't happy with my previous attempts to create a body shell for Thomas' rebuild state, so I took a new approach and started from scratch. Instead of using frames and other engine body parts from other hornby locos, I followed the same procedure that I had when making my James shell and constructed the frames, tanks and bunker from thin wood. The smokebox, boiler, and cab did come from a spare hornby thomas shell I had, albiet with the funnel trimmed down to match the real life engine. The overall shape and size of the shell is perfect, now I can add on the minor features such as buffers, whistle, vacumm pump, railings, etc.
