Lucy is an effortlessly charming, authoritative, smooth talking old country girl from the highlands of Ireland where she previously worked in quarries with nothing but trucks, though she did take an occasional passenger train if demand arose. She's not as old as some of the engines on Sodor, but upon looking at her work reports you wouldn't believe it, as she has a perfect record of working without incident and is extremely experienced with handling both trucks and coaches without a single complaint. But despite her experience and wisdom, her personality shows no trace of it, playing harmless practical jokes on workmen, enjoying winding up other engines, and even has a tendency to speak sarcastically with elders simply out of fun. However, it is due to this combination of experienced wisdom and childlike playfulness that has made her popular amung nearly everyone.
