Needed to post this...This is Kenny. A 6 week old kitten stuck in animal control. He is terrified in the shelter and either had no contact with people or met some really bad ones...
Now little Kenny is getting sick which makes him urgent to get out of the shelter ASAP (cold + timid = Euthanasia)
So I got called in for this one. Since I only have one other foster I said yes and will be picking him up tomorrow.
I will not let this little innocence be killed. He will NOT become a statistic of animal overpopulation. The only number he will be is the next number that was adopted into a home... I lost count of those over the years which is a good thing (:

Have browsed through your photos of your fosters. And I just need to say what an absolutely FANTASTIC thing you are doing. <3 There are so many cats/dogs that die every single day because someone failed to spay/neuter their pets. :[ It's horrid where I live. If a cat is brought into the pound as a stray, they pretty much to straight to the euthanasia room without ever getting a chance.
I work with a rescue group now, and it's just so rewarding. We just recently homed a young cat that'd been with us for almost 6 months.. and it just felt so good, knowing that we saved her and gave her the chance she needed. We've had those really shy cats - so afraid of everything to the point it pretty much breaks your heart - just blossom and find amazing homes.
Sometimes rescue and such can be hard. Just the other month we saved 2 Turkish Van brothers from an abusive household. One ended up being positive for FLV and unfortunately had to be put down he ended up getting so sick. :[ His brother was so terrified we were going to hurt him he literally crawled on the ground. The day he stood up tall was just amazing. I felt like a proud mom that day.

Thank you so much for the comment. I also help with a cat rescue. Our clinic gets filled with cats that we neuter and the ones that are tame we try to foster and adopt out. The shelter near me is PACKED with pets all kinds: dogs, cats, rabbits, and the excuses people give for giving them up is some of the lamest excuses. Little Egypt was given up because a family member was ill. Then what not someone else feed her! God what's it take to pour a cup of food down and pet her on the head for fives minutes? Most people annoy me but then there are the good ones out there like you and me!

I couldn't imagine giving up a pet just cause a family member is ill. :[ I think one of the biggest 'wtf...' reasons I've heard was "I've had this cat for 7 years. She's to old." /facedesk.
Same - haha. Ever since I was a little girl (I'm 20 now) I've believed I was put on this earth to help animals. Everyone thought I was crazy... but here I am. Helping the voiceless. <3

The WORST of them ALL excuse when cats and dogs are returned to my animal control... get this "Unrealistic Expectations" IS that retarded or what! What do they expect the pets to do.. wash their cars and vacuum the house??
