Description

Dust Man (Dasutoman) was a Gori Cyborg Kaijin/Kaiju who appeared in Episodes 11 and 12 of the Spectreman TV series (The Titanic Monster Dustman Appear and Terror Rises from the Dead; aka The Man-monster Pts 1 and 2).

_Appearance and Abilities_

Dust Man, a Dump truck driver with a family, was the first Human Gori transformed into a Kaiju and it resemble for the most part, a Rock like creature, though cover in trash when looked up close; it consume Garbage to survive, as well from it, it acquire both strength and its growth, becoming a Giant Kaiju. The Electromagnetic cells in its body allowed him to Regenerate an entire new body in case the original one was destroyed. It had a large head with a big mouth and protruding lower jaw with teeth, and its eyes were yellow and red – these glew and were cover in blood veins.

Despite the fact it was transformed into a Monster, Dust Man did not lost his sense of Humanity, nor his feelings for his family, and was among the few Monsters that could speak, as well not wanting to attack or fight Spectreman, in fact imploring the hero to end his life. It became the only tragic Monster to have a happy resolution in the end, been reverted back to his human form.

The Dust Man suit would be repurpose for the Cyborg Silver Robo in Ep 27.

_History_

The story start when a Dump Truck Driver (Mr. Okada) stains Kara's jacket with a puddle as the former drops his son (Teddy) at school; after dropping his trash load, the man's truck loses control of its brakes, crashing onto a the side of a hill, the petty Alien simian captures the unconscious driver and takes it Gori to make it into another of his experiments. As Gori leaves for a moment Karas comes in a plays with the controls, overpowering the machine and creating Dust Man in the process. The Kaijin awakens and attacks Karas, then escapes from the hideout and makes his way home, along the way tagging a ride on a truck, though scaring the driver, then eating trash, becoming his source of food. Once Home, Dust Man is unable to face his family with his new look, specially as his wife is worried; after avoiding been spotted, he is able to call by phone.

Quick Note: this part is a bit confusing, as it was the boss calling, yet the actions of the child after this makes me think otherwise. I take this is from the English Dubbed, so if anyone has seen the OG Japanese uncut and is able to understand the language, hope you let me know.

The next day, the Pollution team carries out a survey of the quality of air in the docks when they see the boy pulling a cart with garbage to a warehouse, where Dust Man springs out and eats the Garbage and the cart; George spots it and is inform of its make up by the Overlord, though Dust Man is scared away by the arrival of the rest of the Team; the child is left shock with the thought of familiarity in his mind; but before any method of containment could be carried out, Dust Man burst through the building now the size of a Kaiju. George transforms, but he is distracted by helping Kurata and Arthur, trapped inside the car with debris, this allows the new Monster to reach the garbage dump across the harbor, which would fuel is power and grows even more, been far more massive than Spectreman, who drill through the monster; the later falls over a ship(?) causing an explosion (again, confusing scenes), but their battle comes to an unexpected conclusion when Dust Man sees his son calling him out, thus forcing the monster to beg Spectreman to stop, identifying himself as a human and explaining to the hero as much.

After telling everything, Dust Man begs Spectreman to end his life, knowing he is a danger to others, but the Cyborg, knowing the truth, rejects this course and Dust Man decides to kill himself by drowning(? - Again, Confusing scenes); George then reunites with Kurata and Arthur with the server arm of the monster (now small in size) and take it to the lab for study, while the Chief speaks to the surviving Okada Family, though the boy is firm in his believe the Monster was his father; as the team surmises the creatures actions, the Hand comes to life and escapes its casing, attacking two scientist as it reforms on its way out.

Dust Man then makes it again to his home, where he and his family finally talk, surprise his son was able to identify him; police arrive to capture it, but wife and son stop him allowing Dust Man to escape. The next day Karas kidnaps John and hijacks a car (I fucking dunno why?), with the rest of the Pollution team on his tail; to make matters worst, Dust Man re-emerges, again Kaiju size, and feeds on another Garbage site. In the chaos, Karas causes an accident with the other Team's car, making all but George unconscious, while he tries to convinces Dust Man to come back to Gori. George transforms and faces the monster again, while Karas gets shot at by the police; though Teddy shows up to stop them, but the boy gets captured by Karas and taken hostage, though he incurs the anger of Dust Man and is tossed away by it.

Seeing his son unconscious drives Dust Man insane and Spectreman tries to reason with it, but – as the confusion of this fight sequence wasn't absorbing enough – Dust Man grabs a claws from a crane and stabs himself with it and falls dead and its body explodes...

BUT SOME HOW HE REVERTS TO HIS HUMAN FORM, HE IS REUNITED WITH HIS FAMILY AND FEELS MUCH BETTER FOR IT...

Anecdote: HUH?.
