RANDOMCAPTION!

Tons of thanks to Lauren/ for uploading this because my work computer is made of AIDS and fail.

Commission for , and a complete and utter labor of love. The razor wire in the background was absolute murder to do, and was actually what took me the longest in this piece.

Anyhow. Krhainos belongs to

Sooo nice. Beautiful work! Again, you are atmosphere genious - together with that interesting and dynamic composition, and always flawless lighting, to the last detail!

Storm makes me shiver and feel creeps just looking at it, but... above all, i stand mesmerized by that searing blue light - beacon in the void...
That blue light - what... is it? I mean, i know what is in there, but what is that? That light travels from one world to another - has been carried by many, but always stays bright and breathtaking...

P.S. This reminded me of NausicaΓ€ - there wasn't exactly nuclear winter, but it was close enough...

Luv! ^__^

Forgot to add; Nausicaa looks really, really interesting. I should see if I can find a subtitled version somewhere.

NausicaΓ€ is excellent - totally a mustsee. There should be titled version. I've seen it. Try with torrents or eMule ^__^

The blue light/jellyfish lamps[known as N D'kri] are used in Calatona[headworld thingy] to ward off evil spirits and are generally carried around as a token of protection and good luck. It is believed in Calatonan folk-lore that during the battle in the heavens between the gods, Azkin one of the creator deities sacrificed his life to bring The Shaman[actual name pending] to ruin, and his essence was cast over the ocean in the form of bioluminescent jellyfish, a gift to protect Calatona's inhabitants.

Maybe one day I'll get all these thoughts in order so they make a little more sense. xD

Thanks a ton!

Awwww! Thanks! I love such stories. For me, every thingy on every picture should have it's story... Do you have some more? This one is beautiful ^__^
You think about writing a book or something?

SO COOL! did you come up with it on your own, or did you research the Cold War?

Thanks so much!

I actually didn't do any research into this picture, it just sorta... Came to me while I was riding the bus to work. Though, I have been planning on doing a Cold War themed image for quite some time now.

well, he is Russian right? A German would have a neat and tidy suit with a scarf, but Russians dont give a darn, as long as they are protected and warm.!

Is he a Russian scientist? the glowing rod and the diffrent gas mask make me ask that

I'd honestly wouldn't know as he's not my character. Though I'm pretty sure the character is Japanese like his creator.

Hmm.... the leg coverings look Japanese, I guess i could see him being Japanese. But what on earth would he be in the cold? Hm... probably Cold War when the Japanese invaded The Alaskan Islands.

It's not so much Cold War but nuclear winter which is what the commissioner requested. The clothing designs are my own rather than based on anything culturally.

This whole piece is amazing, but I still am captivated by your ability to make things glow. The wire is quite impressive, along with all the other details: all the buckles, D-rings and that rust on the sign.
You keep raising the bar, mate. Keep up the awesome work! =3
