A lifestyle choice? Please explain. I'm not sure I understand. This sounds almost like it's legitimizing bullying.

There are those (like VPOTUS Pence) who say that anyone who claims to be gay or trans or any gender expression that doesn't fit their world view is not born the way they are; they're "making a lifestyle choice" to be gay etc.
However, unlike being LGBTQI, being a bully really is a choice.
Unfortunately, the current POTUS continues to endorse through his words and deeds, all manner of bullying, even to the point of murder.
5 1/2 years ago I was preaching to a choir that had no problem understanding the oblique message in this fundraiser card for my local queer community.
Times have changed indeed.
Thanks for asking.
If you have further questions about this particular cultural reference, I suggest you begin by googling "being gay is is a lifestyle choice", "Spirit Day anti-bullying campaign" and "Mike Pence on conversion therapy".
Good luck

Thank you for your time and explanation. I didn't mean to offend. Just to understand. That makes sense when seen in that light.
