"I remember that day. Me and my father decided to visit the Cavacchioli family. The moment me and Ketsia saw each other we knew we had to play. "Colvin, you won't be seeing Ketsia for now." Father showed up infront of our eyes, me and Ketsia looked at each other confused before I came to look at him.

"What do you mean?" I asked anxiously.

"Tomorrow we'll train you to be a soldier. You won't see her for years or maybe never." Father come closer to me and took a grip on my arms.

"It maybe hard but you'll protect her. You want that, don't you?" I looked at Ketsia still looking confused with everything. Perhaps she doesn't understand anything what is a soldier and what it's like or she doesn't want to understand them at all. I didn't want to understand too but I do, father was a General after all.

"I want that..." I looked at him with sadness. I wanted to protect her while I'm by her side, why can't that happen instead?

Father looked at me as If it was our time to leave. Our farewell for now. I slowly approached her with a fake smile.

"Don't worry, we'll see each other one day."

"How long is it going to be?"

"I don't know Kets... sorry..."

Ketsia was about to cry but she wiped her own tears before I did. She gave a determined face which cheered me up a little bit.
"Um... I don't care how long It will take. As long someday you will. I don't want to hear anything bad happened to you. Or I'll else..."

I gave a gentle smile. "It's a promise."

As soon I walked away she gave me a hug from behind. "I won't forget you, it's a promise."

I nodded as I continued walking away with pride.
