Probably my favorite relationship of KFP is now Shen and the soothsayer. In "Redeeming Light" I have countless flashbacks of little Shen.
(I forgot to draw her ears..
and she has her beard; her arms is covering it)Kanji means "Nana"

DiLP. Draco in Leather Pants. It's a trope named for Draco Malfoy of HP due to some fan writers wanting him to be good, even before HPatDH, and trying to make him sympathetic, even after he's done so many bad things or has been cruel in general.

The reason why I these scene should be in the movie, because we get to see Tai Lung when he was a child and we should have seen Shen when he was a child before he was evil

i thought his parents "fell out of love" with shen was because of his disturbing obsession with fireworks and the fact that he commited one of the biggest and odious genocides on a panda village

Dreamworks couldn't seem to decide. The original story was that they stuck him with the soothsayer when he was growing up, because they and the city thought he was a bad omen because of his color. Of course, KFP states otherwise. Regardless, I think the "nanny" thing remained the same

Yeah, I think the only thing they changed was his back story. Originaly it said his parents didn't love him becuase he was "sickly" looking ( becuase he was albino)Thats what it said on the Kung Fu panda Wiki.

How adorable! I had no idea she was his nurse/nanny when he was growing up, but now it explains so much about his character and how and why he behaved the way he did towards her. But what a sweet pic.

Oh my god, this is honestly one of the most wonderful Shen fanart pieces I've ever seen. ;_;
Shen and the Soothsayer had a fun relationship in the film that I wish was exposed a lot more yet managed to get a point across; even though he was going mad, it was obvious that she still loved and cared for him, she just couldn't do anything about it. Like, I'm sure that if Shen decided to find his inner peace in the finale then she would have still been there for him, not turn her back.
