They were a shade of beige and smooth.
Round and tiny. He could hold one in one hand, if he didn't wish to be careful.

Donovan stared at them.

"I want scrambled eggs for breakfast."

Bertie choked on air.

"Wha- Novan!" he coughed, sitting up in the bed. "That's awful!"

The teenager huffed.

"It's not like they got any ears yet," he grumbled, eyeing the eggs with suspicioun.

By the heavens, he was absolutely exhausted.
To think, that pushing out some foreign objects out of your cloaca could take so much energy.

At least only Bertie had been there.
Donovan wasn't quite sure what he would have done, if anyone else had been.
If Leonardo had been there.

"They are your kids," Bertie pointed out. Petted Novan's cheek. "It's still a pretty awful joke."
Silence. Then;
"It is a joke, right?"

Donovan gave his lover an amused glance.

"About eating them? Of course it is. About scrambled eggs? No. I rather enjoy the idea of telling Leonardo the eggs have been laid over breakfast, both of us happily chewing on soft, white tissue." He smirked. "He might even throw up. If not, Yoshi might throw up on him."

Bertie snorted. Pulled Donovan into his lap, kissing his forehead.

"Psycho."

"Thank you, love," Donovan murmured as he tilted his head back for a proper kiss, "I do try."
