A messy sketch of Morten Harket from A-Ha (Norwegian 80's band), if you know them try to take a guess where this shot was from
I used one of their music videos as reference.When i was but a girl (around 10 or 11) I saw the Take on Me music video. It made my heart skip a beat since (I'm an absolute nerd) it was composed of rotoscope animations which amazed me, combined with a rather dreamy idea of 'prince charming' coming to life from a comic book and taking you away.
Think it took 1.5hrs in Painter 12, which I'm still trying to get used to and only has a couple days trial left D:

This is great! I LOVE the Painter program. I tried Painter 10 a long time ago and it was my favourite art program. Soon I'll finally be getting my own copy of Painter 12~ ! You did such a great job here, the lighting and shading are awesome! It looks like a real traditional piece!

It is very well done and detailed in so many ways thought possible and not only do i love their famous song "Take on Me" but the portrait itself does look like how they did it in the music video, which was so cool.

Yeah me too I got dead into a-ha at the time they were doing the last consert waaa I wasnt 'old enough' to be going to a consert. Very 80's loveing in our house, always have Absolute 80's on. I agree music all seems to be the same now its rare I like anything modern never mind knowing what celebrities and bands/singers are around today, Bowie is so cool in Labarinth.

Yeah, it's not that impressive. From the 90's and before a great focus was on romance and love. Slow pace, and never the least bit funky. I appreciate it a lot more now, but when I was younger it was incredibly boring haha.

Youv captured him so well! I adore his hair, hair is one of those things I really look out for (and lovely smiles which Morten has ah god that lovely gap between his teeth!). The only hairdoo I dissagreed with is the one in the Cry Wolf video, its too light and springs in a fake way.
This will probably sound a bit too obsessive but...Morthen has a mole on his right wrist (his microphone arm). Well not only do I love moles so much but Ive got a mole in the exact same place instead on the opposite hand though eeeeeck.

I watched one of their music videos when I was a kid, loved it but never seen more than that. I bumped into their stuff rather recently and just thought 'Ahhhhhhhhh! So that's who they are' Shameful really, I should have known sooner! It was the 'Take on me' video I saw, and it really made a girl like me get really excited over the idea of a comic book prince coming to life haha
