Hi there! I'm here on behalf of #Traditional-Artists so you get to see all the feedback this piece got at our last Critique Night!
I hope it is helpful and you can use it for your future work!

βWell first of all, holy cow, excellent work. I love the use of blocked in shadow. It really adds to the feeling of the piece. I feel that the the hand doesn't seem to have as much shading as the face, making it look like an afterthought. The whiteness of the background as well makes the hair fade into the paper. I'd propose two changes; more shading to the hand and some type of background, even if it's just a flat color. Once again, fantastic work. β

βThis is an excellent drawing with a great likeness. I love your style in drawing the deep wrinkles, its' really distinctive and works well. I also like that you've crosshatched and not blended, it works so well in this style. I would make a suggestion on presentation though. It has been brightened a little too much, it's almost glaringly white. Also, the photo/scan has added a greenish tint, if you changed the image to greyscale, it would look much more like a graphite drawing. One other little observation on presentation, it would be worth getting rid of the dirty marks and paper edges, your work will look more polished and people will focus on the bits that matter."

βThis is great! Not only is it a fine likeness, it's so expressive. Your technique is fabulous, I especially like the eyes, great work on them! A bit more darks in the hair might have been nice, he looks nearly completely bald this way Maybe just an outline. It would also have been nice if you had suggested a neck, even if it's not there on the reference, I think. My third suggestions would be to add a bit more detail to the hand - the area around the eyes is so detailed and exact, while the hand seems a bit undefined and rushed. It destroys a bit of the feel. But the greatest thing about is that you really aren't afraid of using black. Those pitchblack shadows work so well, it's just amazing. I think in the future, whenever I tell someone not to be shy with darks, I'm going to show them this piece - because it really shows that using black makes fantastic pieces!β

βOk, so this one is good. I think that it's a good technique used, it gives a good effect and pushs your attention for the eyes that is well performed. The effect also gives some hard lines, and then it seems to be a sculpture or something because there are some cracks. But it really it's a good drawing, I like it! I just saw the photo and it could be more loyal in relation the photo. But anyway congrats!β
