Not so sure about Mac, since I use Windows XD
I only got my tablet two years back, and I remember always saying that if it were ever my birthday, "get me a tablet" XD
You can always practice on traditional first to prepare for digital. It took me some time to get used to making strokes on a tablet only for them to appear on my laptop screen
