She hadn't expected it to hit so soon after the storms rolled in.

But here she was, laying stretched out on her side while her heavily distended belly contracted in painful spasms.

Labor. She was no stranger to it have foaled six previous times. But this was somewhat different. Painful. Difficult. Unlike the previous pregnancies she'd had. A painful whinny left her, head lifting up some as rain cascaded over her down form, drenching it. Normally she'd have been in her stall, but with a myriad of problems happening, she'd been unable to get back to the stables for proper shelter.

Another whinny sounded, followed by a hard contraction that had her tensing down to her hooves as she tried to push the foal out. This was going to be a hell of a long night for her, she just knew it.

This is not going to be an easy night for her, and is going to be a near heart attack for her owner, Lennox. (As if the poor guy hasn't had enough problems.)
