Description About the image:

a portmanteau of ecology and architecture, is a set of architectural design principles aimed toward the design of enormous habitats (hyperstructures) of extremely high human population density. These largely hypothetical structures, which are themselves commonly referred to as "arcologies," would be self-contained, contain a variety of residential and commercial facilities, minimize individual human environmental impact, and possibly be economically self-sufficient. --- wiki

How was the image made:

Rendertime was 6 hours. Modelling time almost 40 hours. Texturing 30 hours. I started with some small sketches and than begin to build the mainbuilding. Its actually only one part of the building, i modelled only 1/23 of it and copy it in a circle. I made 2-3 different variations to get rid of the tilling. After it TEXTUREWORK - i give it a green touch to bring it together with the water. So every texture had a green overlay. For the small buildings around i took onlay a weekend to build them. The whole arangment for the scene another weekend. Finaly the render - i used the Vray proxie system to render this huge amount of polygons with textures it worked pretty well.

Looks kinda Chinese. And a bit like ancient Greece/Rome. But it IS unique and original. And amazingly realistic (meaning mainly realisticly designed architectural style). Makes me just want to sit here and watch the details for another 10 minutes ^^.
