I would much apreciate it if somebody did a new one seeing as the squadron has gotten quite alot of new recruites, such as me.

there's 15 characters here, there's about 28 on the forum, some of which havent posted anything that i could base their character on, and i've just taken a full time job i can't see another happening for quite a while.... if i get time maybe i will. It's me who writes the plots, draws the maps and makes the plans on the forum; i have SOOOO much work.

still, i have done some single character sketches for people, if you can give a VERY good description, i can do you one!

hahaha, nothing wrong with that, a picture speaks a thousand words, so they say, but you can certainly paint a richer picture with words than could be achieved in the same time, by drawing!

Yup it kinda is, they're all friends off Deviantart!

How about a convict? I don't know... Ever since I started seeing all of this happening I have had a strong urge to create a criminal cartographer.

Gekster In reply to rebellion [2007-06-25 23:26:12 +0000 UTC]

As I said, you can be anything you want, a civilian even more welcome. As there are lacking dearly! And what do you mean about the criminal cartographer? Elaborate!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rebellion In reply to Gekster [2007-06-25 23:33:00 +0000 UTC]

Definitely a civilian; I don't know enough about the historical military to get away with joining; though I'm really hoping I can learn a lot from you guys... um...

I'm a plot-liner. I really like to story-craft. Whatever you need, I could probably do... It all depends on what sort of opening you need. But I'd really like to play a criminal cartographer, or a semi-educated pirate. Or something.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Gekster In reply to rebellion [2007-06-26 15:35:34 +0000 UTC]

I'll say that many a space is open. If you have a special field of interest (such as specified) than you are most welcome to pick it and join as such. A civilian, as I said before, would be more welcome due to there being very few of them now. If you choose a character of special background it sure shall add spice and havoc to the whole ordeal.

Don't worry in all, the main objective there is to have fun!

Now about the rest, there's also a need for marines - there is a poster somewhere about, that is calling in all men of excellence and spirit to join . And crew members such as sailors, midshipmen or similar are most welcome too!

Goldenspring In reply to rebellion [2007-06-26 00:18:17 +0000 UTC]

Does "criminal cartographer" mean devious map maker? That could be quite amusing especially if you sold your creations to the empire...
Feel free to lodge at my tavern, if you create enough havoc while not breaking anything or singing too much late at night I might let you stay free of carge, especially if you don't like tea.

Vyse, what'd you say to a lesson in girls clothes? If you don't care tell me to shove off but with the lovely uniforms it'd be so nice to have the quality of the dress(es?) match.

allong that line of questioning, what happens if they have an officer's ball? Are you all just going to dance with each other or are fox, farrell, sketchy and preston going to abandon their usual atire? seems unlikely...

And I'm still totally in love with this picture. the caractures of people are great! (hehe, Jones) Oh yeah, and the sashes are smashing.

GeneralVyse In reply to Goldenspring [2007-06-24 20:49:54 +0000 UTC]

yeah that'd be great, i can do dresses but they look inflated rather than 'smexy' beth's was meant to be a working dress with a big apron... but it got a little lost :S

as for the ball, vyse is getting measured for his dress now! LOL i think the ladies will be in proper feminine regalia, maybe they'll wear their epaulettes though ???

i saw on ebay a month ago, this ancient dress, 1830 or there aboutsr, it had belonged to a hussars wife, because she used all the same colours and hints at hussar design, as well as having a sabretache (messenger's pocket) for a handbag!!!!

LOL it is good reference, but not everyone registered is here, just the ones who've made an effort!

so, c'mon, teach me!

Hey Vyse! Lookin' spiffy! Thousands of apologies for being a complete ass and ignoring all of your bloody excellent stuff. I'm working at a military museum for the summer and though it's a dream job, it's absolutely draining. I've also started riding with a 20th century re-enactment group so that's been taking up a decent amount of time and energy. Excuses, excuses.....

LAWLS. I LOVE it how Ross and Vyse are MIA though. Wonder what happened.... And that is one smexy sabre scar you got there, General. Ross looks like he's complaining about something.... what a surprise...

By the by, if you happen to see any size 36 WWI officers' tunics for a halfways decent price kicking around the UK, do let me know. My next project is a Lieutenant's kit from Lord Strathcona's Horse and I'm not even lying this time.

AAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! i just saw 5 go at once for pittances on ebay :S i didnt bid coz ive got one all ready :S - i'll keep a look out (i r master of ebay)

YOUR job is sooo cool, im very very jealous, though whats to stop me doing the same? hmmm....

so, 20th century re-enactment eh? cavalry from ww1???

i sent you a note why rossy is MIA, but vyse has been captured by the enemy after a heroic battle. poor old ross' face is the only one i made a mistake with during the drawing, so i edited it with th' ol' photoshop; which never gives the bestr results :S

GOD I NEED A GOOD JOB *perhaps the capitals will make people notice that and employ me *

AGHK! Goddammit! Thanks for looking though - what do you use for search terms, btw?

Yeah, that job pwns me, BIG TIME. It's amazing - but I was lucky enough to know the curator and he was the one who told me about it. Otherwise I'd be working at the golf course or something. *spastic, twitching shudder*

GOD YES. That's ALL I can think about these days. Definitely WWI Canuck cavalry. It's funny - these women were into the museum the other day looking at uniforms for a movie that's coming out on Passchendaele (speling??). They're the costume designers. Anyways, I told the assistant when she was in one day that I was interested in being an extra and she's like "Oh, you could be a nurse!" Uhhhh.... justletmethinkabouthat UM NO. I was also informed that though there wasn't cavalry at Passchendale (speling??) the director wants to have some in it at one point (go figure) so hook me up, plz. I'd cut my hair off in two seconds for a change to ride in a movie!

Agh, poor Ross with his messed up face. LOL, you should have left it! It IS kinda messed up afterall...

Hmmm... well, check around with the jobs, eh? Get yourself some pimpin' connections! Are you still at the coffee shop?

tell em ill join in, if they'll fly me over!

perhaps they will be mounted military police - yes, really - they existed as a regiment!!! i think the spellings fine, and also, what about the 'womens auxilliary'?? there's plenty of scope for khaki ladies but yeah id rather be the cavalry, 4th hussars maybe?

ill have to move to london then! im going there next week, ill pop in on the imperial war museum, ive never been before :S

lol, yeah im still churning out coffee!!!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ColonelLiamRoss In reply to GeneralVyse [2007-06-30 17:13:28 +0000 UTC]

Haha, that would be brilliant!

Yeah, with the cav. in the movie, I think the director just wants them for the opening shot of the battlefield where there's stuff going in and coming out, etc.

God, you're kidding me. You live in the UK and you've never been to the Imperial War Museum? GGHCKT! That's nearly first on my list when I head over there (perhaps sometime this winter - fingers crossed, fingers crossed, fingers crossed)

You know, I've got a question for you. It's really quite random but is there anything really distinguishing about the way people talk in Norfolk? I know the Yorkshire accent is pretty wild but is there anything that really jumps out about the Norfolk accent? (If there is one....)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GeneralVyse In reply to ColonelLiamRoss [2007-06-30 19:34:05 +0000 UTC]

NORFOLK? i dont know, its not too far from 'leopreston' who lives in grantham.... wherever that is... over there somewhere! LOL they probably have fairly countryfied accents "yarp"

i've been to some of the war museums, just not the main one yet

find the director and give him a kicking! who the f^% sends cavalry out like that??? most of them were dismounted and fought as infantry!

Colonel Casey: What?..I'm not upset about loosing the bet....and no, I'm quite happy with the fact I'll be committing to "public service" because of it!

Colonel Travingson: Hey don't look at me. I've no idea what that is all about!

Captain Sketchy: Hey, mr... excuse me but.. you ARE standing on my foot.

Captain Siman: Ha, I told you, Colonel Casey. Nobody beats the navy in that sort o' game! I warned ye! HA!

Capitaine Nelson: Hey there lovely! *wink* I know ye wan' me!

Commodore Preston: Smile, just smile....pretend not to hear anything. Smile..*hand on hilt twitching*

Whittaker: Marvelous. Now that we have a picture of these men and women there will be no problem identifying the culprits that broke me tables last night!

Sir Lupious: It is now that I own only some land, but it shan't be long and I shall own everything that is, that lives, that breathes.. that....*blinks at Whittaker*...eh heh..heh..was I thinking out loud?

Colonel Dauphin: Grrrrrrrrrr! *glower, growl* grrrrr! *bares teeth*

Captain Boruta: If I only knew what I was getting myself into when I signed meself up... les terrible!
