Hello everyone! This is Gyomei Himejima from my story « Devilman DxD: Demons and Devils », based on his counterpart from the anime adaptation of Demon Slayer. In this version, Gyomei was the younger brother of Ageha Ikuse (née Himejima) and Suou Himejima, the uncle of Inami Himejima, the great-uncle of Tobio Ikuse and Suguru Geto, the father of Shuri and Hanezu Himejima, the father-in-law of the Fallen Angel Baraqiel and the grandfather of Akeno and Suzaku Himejima; he’s also the great-grandfather of Kurenai, Ayame and Shuri Himejima-Fudo and the great-great-grandfather of Yuma Kazami-Fudo.

Also, much like his canon counterpart, Gyomei embodied the gentle giant archetype, being surprisingly soft-spoken and sensitive, despite his intimidating appearance; he was also shown to be quite pious, carrying his prayer beads at all times and offering prayers in poignant situations. Most notably, Gyomei easily cried over the most insignificant things, accentuating his rather soft nature. This could be due to his love for all living creatures brought about by his religious upbringing, and insinuated when he felt so disgusted by beating up a non-human creature that he would never forget that feeling for the rest of his life. Unlike his canon counterpart, Gyomei is blind by birth. However, when his daughter Shuri was still a baby, Gyomei was coldly executed by his own brother Suou who was afraid that he would take his place as the Head of the Himejima Clan. This way, Gyomei never had the chance to see his daughter growing nor meeting his granddaughters Akeno and Suzaku.
