Wyatt Wilson Poole was a two-bit rustler in the Western Territory until the day he crossed paths with deranged snake oil salesman, Doctor Killbrew. Killbrew and his cohorts drugged Poole and kidnapped him away to Killbrew's private testing house in the desert where he was subjected to horrifying experiments in the name of new medical advances. When Poole finally died, raving in his madness about his love for Lady Death, Killbrew had his body pickled in a vat and sold him off to be anatomized by medical students.
Somehow, Poole's vat came into the possession of an old witch-woman named Blind Al. She raised the pickled corpse as a zombi, hoping to use him to do her bidding. Poole proved a slippery soul to control, and his maddened mind quickly broke free from her spell. His undead state makes him nearly invulnerable to harm, and severed limbs will drag themselves for miles to reattach themselves. This ability combined with his crazed fearlessness made his current career in sponsored mayhem a natural fit.
