Description
A new series I'll be working on here and there- Marvel's Avengers reimagined as Japanese warring-states period heroes.Iron Man is reimagined as 'Tetsu-jin'.
Tetsuya Suzaku was born into a rich and powerful merchant family (though they had bought their way into a samurai house some years back). The Suzaku family owned mining interests as well as a variety of businesses that utilized the resources those mines produced. Weapons and armor were of particular interest to the brilliant young heir to the family name, and he voraciously studied the latest designs and barbarian technologies.
The fame and fortune of the Suzaku name increased due to his early adoption of new techniques and innovations. His personality and lifestyle ballooned with success, and his wild behavior led to a rift in the Suzaku family. A bloody attempt by a family faction to kidnap Tetsuya and force him reveal his new gunpowder formula forced him to change his outlook. He escaped the mine he was held in by building a suit of armor and weapons from strange materials he found in the mine depths.
Now he fights for his own philosophy of justice with a razor keen wit and the latest advancements in arms and armor.

nice... personally i think id have gone even older with his exotic weapons.
like say the autocross bow.... or the chinese nest of bees... (as missles)
and something along the lines of theΒ fire stick pole gun (also china) that could shoot jets of fire, or shoot ammo, much like the arcebus looking rifle he holding.
or maybe even a bizantine or chinese napther, pump flame thrower.
Since he studying the technologies of other countries & Tetsuya (if like his counter part) would be willing to take risks despite public opinion.
Oh any chance of ULTRON?Β Maybe the product of Tetsuya Suzaky making the ultimate suit of armour.... and Nobu Tsubana using what he had learnt sealing some magical entity inside of it. with the goal of creating the ultimate guard for the emperor, that couldn't be destroyed and would never tire.....Β but obviously the resulting creature didn't much like being a slave and rebelled and attempted to gather his own army (mercinarys who all wear armor modled to look like him, permeating the myth that he can be eveywhere at once....and also that all versions are as powerful as the original... tho arent)

This is going to bother me until I ask; are those matchlocks or flintlocks? Either would be fine, but I really want to know.Β
Matchlocks would fit the time, flintlocks the character; Iron Man is always more advanced than most....

They're based on the Tanegashima matchlocks.Β While I didn't choose an exact date for this project, the early 1500s was my vague target.
