Squirrel Girl and her team face off against the 'Deforest Ranger'!This is more concept art for an imaginary cartoon based on Marvel Comics' parody characters, The Great Lakes Avengers. I wanted to do full body illustrations of her teammates in a classic comic book pose.
I imagine the cartoon as a kids show focusing on Squirrel Girl, Doreen Green, fourteen-year-old junior member of Wisconsin's own Great Lakes Avengers. Doreen's courage and tenacity frequently save the day despite her less than A-list superpower. Supporting characters include Doreen's father-- a former technician for Stark Industries in New York, now a freelance repairman and single father, team leader and bowling alley operator Mr. Immortal, fierce Savage Land transplant Dinah Soar, the neurotic and accident-prone robot Grasshopper, and Doreen's chemistry teacher, Mr. Valentine Flatmann-- aka Flatman. Of course, Squirrel Girl's iconic sidekick "Monkey Joe" would also have an important role.

This is a really cool concept. Only one thing, though. Flatman's real name is Val Ventura. It's a parody of Mr. Fantastic's real name, Reed Richards.

so... this needs to become a reality. I would love this if it was a real show. I think someone needs to alert marvel of the goldmine they could have in the sat. morning market again!

man! this would be REALLY fun to watch, even as just one episode of the really cool avengers series that's playing on disney now. It'd be awesome if they guest starred as imitation avengers inspired by the ones making all the headlines in NY. i can see it now!
