Description A bottle themed after one of my favorite books by Ray Bradbury: Fahrenheit 451. Wear this pendant on a necklace, or hanging from your review mirror; it will be sure to remind you of this favorite and be a great conversation piece.

This bottle contains burned pages of a poor book that gave its life for this project (I nearly set my kitchen table on fire getting them). The cork is sealed with silicone glue to keep the contents safe from moisture. On the outside of the bottle is the image of a flame. The entire bottle is then wire-wrapped with a bead-dangle and a copper piece with the number 451 stamped onto it.

I really liked the image of the flame rather than the glass-etching, but I thought other people might like the glass-etching version more; so I decided to offer both.

You can find this bottle and others like it, for sale in my ArtFire store: Oddments and Tweaks

Thanks so much! I often feel as though this piece is neglected quite a bit. I might have sold one out of the original 8 or so that I made.

Thanks so much! It's also one of my favorite books he's done, too! I'm still trudging through his collection of stories book...

You-you-you... you burnt a book? *whimpers*

(I have a weird aversion to destroying books. The thought just makes me cringe. I don't think I could even bring myself to burn one of those 10p paperbacks from the charity shop bin that are beyond repair.)

That said, I love bottle pendants and this is actually an interesting idea, it would work well with pages from controversial books or books that had been censored or banned in the past. I like the copper tag especially - it would be cool with the tag in the bottle with the ashes, if it would fit!

Oh yes! I completely understand! Which is why when it came down to doing the dirty deed, I had to pick a book that was already pretty destroyed: it was already missing some pages and the cover.

I still have a big map book from the 1800's that is in pretty bad shape--but the inside text is still intact, so I just CAN'T see getting rid of it. It's so beautiful...

Never thought of putting the copper piece inside the bottle... I'll have to see if it would fit now; you've got me curious.
