Background/Personality: Bastion's family has cared for the horses of nobility for many generations. When he was able to walk, he began learning about the care of horses, how to ride, equine habits and body language, and the many different types of horses... all knowledge which is vital to the success of his profession.

His first encounter with Lord Kaynard was by mere chance and not very classy at that. Bastion was discovered in a full-out brawl with another groom after he had discovered the snooty louse mistreating a team of stallions. Though usually calm and quiet, Bastion is quick to flare at the signs of animal abuse. Lord Kaynard was impressed with his passion (as well as his family's reputation for being among the best in the nation in regards to the care of horses), and had invited Bastion to visit his estate and tend the stable there. The working conditions were nice and Kaynard seemed to be a reputable man so Bastion agreed to the arrangement.

In general, he doesn't get along well with people and prefers to be alone or caring for the horses. He is a man of few words and keeps mainly to himself. Loud, obnoxious women (and men) tend to unnerve him rather quickly.
