I'm the one now

This picture is a love letter of sorts... and an apology, and a gift, and a memento. The character is David Syeer McLaughlin (most commonly referred to as Sy, and by most commonly, I mean always). He is the main character of Memory8, the military scifi story I've been working on for more than five years now. He wasn't meant to be the main character: there were supposed to be eight mains (as the title suggests), but as the story progressed, this one had the gall to steal the show, and my heart. As the lead in my most dark and dramatic story concept, he's been though so many horrible things, but it only serves to make him stronger (and a much better person than me lolz). I just wanted to draw him having a content -- maybe even a happy moment. They can be few and far in between for him, but god knows he deserves each one.

I'm not that thrilled with the coloring... worked hard on the face, but got bored with the arms (clearly), though the shirt and pants I left intentionally unshaded. This may be the last thing I'll ever color with a mouse :3
