Not quite done yet, but you get the idea.Despite MMOs being the bane of my existence, I'm so excited about Guild Wars 2.
From left to right:
Charr Warrior
Norn Ranger
Asura Necromancer
Human Elementalist
Sylvari Thief
I can really feel myself improving, but the thing which I need to address is committing to the more rough/painterly style... Some parts of this are well detailed using a soft brush, and some parts have a rough/pastel look to it. I'm going continue working on it and do my best to find a happy medium.
Photoshop + Tablet. ~10 hours.

Did you use any specific brushes/settings for the rougher areas of the painting?

Yes. I'm using a Chalk brush with a Spatter brush as its Dual Brush setting in Photoshop. Both are included with Photoshop. Let me know if you'd like me to be more descriptive.

The Dual Brush option is located in the Brushes Panel (Window > Brushes).
To enable it, check its box. To modify it, select the Dual Brush option by clicking on its name/tab and change the settings as you please. It's a bit complicated at first, but experimenting with different options is the best to learn what works best for you.
