Description The threadbare blanket that you wrap around yourself to sleep,
Let it be my arms, my body, and my heat that you feel.

Curl up in it and feel every fiber of that fabric.
Feel the memories of my head on your shoulder,
My lips on your neck, my hands on your chest.

Pull that sheet over me, over you.
Pull us down underneath
Pull me to you, and feel every caress.

I will wrap myself around...feel me.
I will curl into your space.
I will pull you to me, again--always again.

I just looked at my author's comment and realized how kind of...wrong it sounded...

The author that was visiting at the time was Kimiko Hahn. I am a fan of her poetry because she has such and intense connection with her words. She uses regular items and changes them so that they become irregular and sometimes, profound.

Hahn is also known for the racy ways that use uses her poetry to describe everyday moments and boldness when it comes to laying out sexualized encounters with her pen.

Another inspiration for this piece came from a poem I read in high school that had something to do with a blanket and with love.

The child of those two inspirational factors is this simple poem. Though my poem is not nearly as racy or interesting as Hahn, nor even as intense or vivid as the poem that I can't quite seem to remember from high school, here you have it. Cover.
