What are your rules on using energy weapons in zombie fighting? Here's mine:
1. THE CORDAK BLASTER
essentially a handheld laser Gatling that uses an air-pressure system to rotate the barrel. These have the advantage of being able to channel the user's abilities into ammo. Underwater, they have the advantage of making a propulsive bubble stream. However, their standard ammunition (concentrated minirockets made of energy) will blow up the surrounding area, regardless of the zombie being hit or not.
2. THE RHOTUKA LAUNCHER
this device generates of a wheel of energy whose effect depends on its user's morals, ethics, & affinities. This means its usefulness against zombies will vary. On the flip side, you can use the wheel to fly. Its movement is directed by your thoughts. The biggest drawback is that using it costs you energy, so you have to be careful how many Rhotuka you launch at once.
3. THE NYNRAH GHOST BLASTER
a pump-action weapon that shoots arrowhead-like energy blasts. It comes in 2 varieties:
The blasts of the standard variety allow you to mentally control any machinery (including cyborgs), allowing you to have an army of drones to use against the zombies. Control wears off over time.
The blasts of the other variety consist of an energy that can be shaped into anything by its user (generally restraint devices)
4. THE MIDAK SKYBLASTER
essentially a huge cannon that fires spheres of light. Will instantly reduce zombies to ashes, regardless of where the strike hits. However, it forms light spheres from the light in the surrounding area, so use sparingly.
5. THE ZAMOR
This handheld weapon shoots crystalline spheres that you can put stuff into. You make them intangible by touching them against another object.
Zamors, Nynrahs, & Midaks can all be fitted with attachments.
5. THE LASER PISTOL
The classic energy weapon. Bad idea in zombie fighting, because the blasts could bounce off of something, killing the user.
6. THE ELECTRON RAM
A pike that generates a column of electrons between it & its primary target. The column disintegrates its primary target. Originally made for tank drones, but new, handheld models have the added benefit of a bayonet.
7. THE ENERGY BLADE
The classic short-range energy weapon. Depending on variety that you use, it can offer the efficient skull-slicing of a normal sword, the projectile power of an assault rifle, & the stopping power of a shotgun.

Weapon: Knightly Arming Sword, shield and chainmail. Wait, that all count as 'weapon'?

I agree completely on your choice of vehicle and especially your choice of Duke Nuken as a potential partner. John St.John (the voice of Duke Nukem) is even cooler in person than he is in the games.
